Teens Tackle Crime Investigation at ACC’s CSI Forensics Camp

Youth Programs logoAustin Community College Youth Programs is bringing science to life for Central Texas teenagers July 16-20 with a CSI forensics camp.

During the free camp, high school students unravel a crime mystery and perform hands-on crime scene work. Participants learn about research and investigative techniques from professionals, including representatives from the Travis County Sheriff’s Office.

“This camp shows students the power of science and how it plays a major role in the investigative process,” says Jennifer Mathews, ACC Youth Programs coordinator. “The experience can change their whole perspective on science. It becomes much more than just a subject in school.”

ACC Youth Programs provides challenging and engaging educational activities that increase academic achievement and develop a college-going culture. Camps are free to participants, with priority given to underserved youth, especially foster children. For more information, visit austincc.edu/youth.

Registration is closed for this year’s camp.
