The exchange students arrive at Austin-Bergstrom International Airport.
More than two dozen South Korean high school students are spending part of their summer at ACC through a sister city exchange program.
The students, who will be at ACC through mid-August, are studying Texas history, U.S. business and society, English, and computer gaming in classes at Riverside Campus. Outside of the classroom, the group will explore Austin and nearby attractions, including the Alamo, Johnson Space Center, and Galveston’s Moody Gardens.
“We are excited to welcome these students and show them around Texas,” says Bill Louden, chair of ACC’s International Business Institute. “We will teach them about our culture and history and have a little bit of fun.”
The students are from Gwangmyeong City, a suburb of Seoul and one of Austin’s sister cities. The idea for the student/faculty exchange program, a collaboration between ACC and the City of Austin’s International Program, began two years ago when a Gwangmyeong delegation visited Austin.

It’s great to have these students visit ACC and learn about the programs we offer. We would like to encourage them to come and visit the International Student Admissions Office at the RVS or RRC campus while they are here so they can obtain information about returning to ACC as a regular college student.
