Plan Now for ACC’s First December Commencement

2012 CommencementGraduating is always a reason to celebrate. Now, Austin Community College students can commemorate this important milestone even if it doesn’t happen to fall in May.

For the first time, ACC will host a December commencement for students completing their degrees midyear and other graduates unable to attend spring commencement. The ceremony will be Friday, December 14, at the Frank Erwin Center.

“We’ve seen so much growth at ACC that it just made sense to add a second graduation ceremony,” says Dr. Richard Rhodes, ACC president/CEO. “Graduation is such a huge accomplishment, and we want as many students and families as possible to celebrate with us.”

The number of ACC students applying to graduate has increased in recent years. Last year more than 3,000 students applied to graduate, and ACC conferred degrees and certificates on more than 2,500.

Students are eligible to participate in December commencement if they graduated in summer 2012 or submit their graduation application by the fall deadline, Friday, October 5. Log in to Online Services and submit your application under Academic Planning>Application for Graduation.
