ACC Mathematics Professor Joey Offer has been appointed director of Math PLUS, ACC’s proposed Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP). Dr. Offer will oversee the ongoing development and implementation of the Math PLUS program.

Dr. Joey Offer has taught at ACC since 1998.

A key component of the college’s ongoing reaffirmation of accreditation, Math PLUS is a focused, five-year program to increase student success rates in developmental math. The program features a redesign of the beginning level developmental math course to include collaborative learning activities, instruction in math-specific study skills, and computer-assisted instruction to reinforce concepts.

An Austin native, Dr. Offer earned her undergraduate, master’s, and doctorate degrees from the University of Texas at Austin and has taught math and developmental math courses at ACC since 1998. In the coming months she will oversee various committees that will develop the redesigned curriculum, coordinate training for faculty and staff, and manage the data assessment that will accompany the new program.
