Renowned Southwest artist Amado Peña is continuing his artist-in-residency visit at ACC following his generous donation of artwork to the college. Peña will set up a studio and work 9:30-11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 3, in the student lounge at Rio Grande Campus (1212 Rio Grande St.). Students, faculty, and staff are encouraged to observe and converse with Peña as he paints.
“Amado is a great friend to ACC, and this is a wonderful opportunity to get an inside look at the artistic process,” says Dr. Richard Rhodes, ACC president/CEO. “I invite all of our students and employees to stop by and enjoy this unique experience.”

I met Mr. Pena October 1, 2012 at HBC and he is exceptionally talented. I recommend for everyone to view his work and greet Mr. Pena.

I am a former student who will attend the spring semester. I am an Honors student and a member of Phi Theta Kappa. I do volunteer work at Stoneridge Rehabilitation Center, a nursing home, and at the Laura Bush library. I have been unable to find a job because I am 61, don’t have a degree yet and was a stay-at-home Mom. I would love to see this artist. Is there anyway I can attend?
Thanks very much.
