This year, more than 6,000 people are expected to use the Cypress Creek bus service.

ACC has extended its agreement with Capital Metro to provide bus service to Cypress Creek Campus. The new contract, approved by the Board of Trustees in early October, runs through January 12, 2014.

The service allows access to the Capital Metro system from Cypress Creek through Route 214 (Northwest Flex), providing service from Lago Vista and Jonestown to the campus in Cedar Park. Other nearby stops include Lakeline Station and points close to Lakeline Mall. (Click here for a route map and schedule.)

This year, more than 6,000 people are expected to use the Cypress Creek bus service, which started in January 2011. The route is eligible for ACC’s Green Pass, which provides access to Capital Metro service for credit students, faculty, and staff at no additional cost.

“We are excited that Capital Metro will continue to provide service to Cypress Creek Campus,” says Andy Kim, ACC’s director of environmental stewardship. “Green Pass and the Cypress Creek stop are helping students get to class, easing parking congestion, and reducing ACC’s impact on the environment.”

The new agreement covers one additional year of service; the college will pay Capital Metro a fee of approximately $19,000, funded through the college’s student sustainability fee ($1 per credit hour).

ACC instituted the Green Pass program in January 2010. Since then, Green Pass holders have taken more than 2.6 million rides. Click here to learn more about Green Pass.

Green Pass is a key component of ACC’s commitment to sustainable practices.
