Drama Department Presents “The Homage That Follows” Nov. 9-18

The ACC Drama Department will present Mark Medoff’s “The Homage That Follows,” Nov. 9-18 at the Rio Grande Campus Mainstage Theater (1212 Rio Grande St., second floor). Performances take place Thursdays through Saturdays at 8 p.m. and Sundays at 2 p.m.

The play is about a young man’s friendship with his widowed employer, which turns to obsession and murder when the woman’s celebrity daughter returns to the family farm. Told from five different perspectives, the play offers an unconventional portrayal of grief.

“I wanted to do a production that would grab the audience, be challenging to the actors, and simple in its design,” says director Perry Crafton, associate professor of drama. Â “Even though the play was written almost 20 years ago, I believe audiences will respond to the story’s familiarity and relevancy.”

Tickets are $5 for students and $10 for the public, with proceeds benefiting drama and dance scholarships. Tickets can be purchased in advance through ACC Marketplace.
