ACC Student Newspaper Earns Top Honors at State Journalism Conference

Accent staff with their awards from the Texas Community College Journalism Conference.

The Accent, ACC’s student newspaper, won nine awards at the recent Texas Community College Journalism Conference, including first place for overall excellence in its division.

Accent staff won awards in contests conducted on site and for previously published work:

-Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Abra Gist, third place in print news writing

-Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Natalie Casanova, second place in editorial writing and third place in column writing

-Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Jon Shapley, honorable mention in news photography and second place in news photo

-Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Era Sundar, third place in radio news writing

-Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Raymond Weyandt, third place in news writing

-Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Accent staff, second place in advertising (single ad)
