ACC Program Gives Students Real-World Experience in International Business

ACC is giving students an opportunity to get real-world experience in international business – a key field in Texas, which leads the nation in export revenue. This spring, ACC’s International Business Institute is presenting Export Fellows, a free, four-part introductory course that will result in a certificate from the U.S. Department of Commerce.

Expert Fellows will meet four times in February and March for presentations by local speakers who are active in the world of international business. Students will then work in teams with area small businesses to put together an export study for an actual product or service with the potential of being exported to a foreign market.

“ACC students who possess the skills and knowledge that help Texas companies compete in the global marketplace are in a better position to get good jobs than those who lack such skills,” says Bill Louden, department chair. “Through Export Fellows, students can get their feet wet in the world of international business through a real-world exporting experience.”

Applications are due Jan. 30; the first Expert Fellows meeting will be Feb. 6. Visit the International Business Institute webpage for more information and to apply.
