ACC students, faculty, and staff are invited to celebrate the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. at the annual MLK Community Walk on Monday, Jan. 21.

The march will begin at 9 a.m. at the MLK statute on the University of Texas at Austin campus. Following a brief program, participants will walk to the State Capitol, and then to Huston-Tillotson University for a day-long festival featuring music and activities.

Sponsored by the Austin Area Heritage Council, the march is the culmination of several events honoring King, including the MLK Scholarship Awards and the Day of Service. Previous marches have attracted up to 15,000 people.

ACC participants are asked to meet at the MLK statue at 8:30 a.m. For more information and to view a list of free parking locations, visit mlkcelebration.com, or contact Loretta Edelen at 223.5106 or [email protected].
