Taking Shape: Elgin Campus Progress

An aerial photo taken December 10 shows major progress on ACC’s Elgin Campus in advance of a planned opening this fall.

ACC Project Manager Pamela Collier says building construction is about 85 percent complete, with work underway on interior finishes, exterior walkways, landscaping, and finishing touches on the building facade.

“The Elgin Campus has a unique design that fits into the surrounding environment and community,” Collier says. “With construction progressing a little ahead of schedule, we anticipate that Student Services will be able to move into the building in mid-May to assist students registering for fall classes.”

ACC’s Elgin Campus will be the first community college campus in Bastrop County. Located adjacent to U.S. Highway 290 and County Line Road, the campus will provide convenient access to general education and academic transfer opportunities, workforce education, and foundation skills programs for those not yet college-ready.

The campus building will feature a central 3-story atrium and a balcony off the library for enjoying the view.
