ACC Professor Selected to Lead State Association

Austin Community College professor of English David Lydic will take office April 1 as state president-elect of the Texas Community College Teachers Association. Comprised of professionals from every teaching discipline, as well as counselors, librarians, and administrators, the organization’s nearly 6,000 members come from all public and independent community, junior, and technical colleges in Texas. It is the largest organization of postsecondary educators in the state—more than twice as large as all other such organizations combined.

Dr. Lydic has taught at ACC since 1979 and has won a number of teaching awards. He holds a Ph.D. from the University of Texas at Austin. He is a frequent presenter at state and national conferences and is also active in the Two-Year College English Association.

TCCTA regularly is called upon to provide information and testimony to committees of the Texas Legislature and to agencies of state government, including the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board.
