ACC Hosts Riverbat Mascot Tryouts April 20, New Scholarship Available

The Riverbat poses with runners at the St. James Missions 5k.

ACC is looking for students to fill the green and yellow high-tops of the Riverbat mascot. The college will host tryouts Saturday, April 20, at 11 a.m. at Northridge Campus (11928 Stonehollow Dr., Building 4000, First Floor Lecture Hall).

Not only is the mascot a paid position, but those offered a position are also eligible to apply for the new Riverbat Scholarship.

Mascot candidates must be in good standing at the college and registered for classes in the current semester. As part of the audition, candidates will perform a prepared 2-minute routine in a generic mascot costume (provided at tryouts) as well as an improvised skit; there will be an interview as well. Winning candidates will perform as the college’s official mascot at events throughout the 2013-14 academic year.

R.B. helped pump up the crowd at the 2013 MDA Muscle Walk with some mascot friends.
