ACC Bond Advisory Committee Meetings Under Way

The ACC Board of Trustees has asked the college to proceed with plans for a potential bond election this November to address facilities and other capital improvement needs. The input of the college and community is critical to the board as it determines what priorities an election may address.

The board recently appointed the ACC District Bond Program Advisory Committee – comprised of 25 faculty, staff, student, and community representatives – to review the extensive planning activities that have taken place in recent years and to recommend an improvements package. Options may include:

  • Renovation and/or expansions of ACC campuses and facilities (new and existing locations)
  • Classroom improvements; safety and security upgrades; sustainability additions; and accessibility improvements
  • ACC Highland location

The committee is now meeting, and faculty, staff, students, and community are invited to attend. Meetings began in early April; upcoming dates are:

  • Thursday, April 18, 2 to 4:30 p.m. (agenda topic: campus master plans)
  • Thursday, April 25, 2 to 4:30 p.m. (campus assessments)
  • Thursday, May 2, 5 to 7:30 p.m. (draft of Academic Master Plan)
  • Thursday, May 9, 9:30 a.m. to noon (new campuses to include: Round Rock, Elgin, Hays, and Leander)
  • Thursday, May 23, 2 to 4:30 p.m. (prioritization for general obligation bond program)
  • (If needed) Thursday, May 30, 2 to 4:30 p.m. (additional meeting to discuss the prioritizations)
  • (If needed) Thursday, June 6, 2 to 4:30 p.m. (additional meeting to discuss the prioritizations)

All meetings will be held in Room 201 at Highland Business Center (5930 Middle Fiskville Rd.).

Members of the committee will present their recommendations to ACC trustees by June. For more information or to submit comments to the committee, visit austincc.edu/bond.
