Jazz Ensemble Teams with Special Guests for October Performances

The Jazz Ensemble performs nationwide.

The ACC Jazz Ensemble is teaming up with Grammy-winning guitarist Redd Volkaert and vocalist Stacy Seals for a series of performances in October, all open to the public.

The ensemble and its special guests will perform a benefit concert for Children’s Medical Center Foundation of Central Texas on Thursday, Oct. 17, at 9:30 p.m. at Patsy’s Cowgirl Café (5001 E. Ben White Blvd.). There is no cover charge, but all donations will benefit a surgical mission team from Dell Children’s Medical Center.

On Saturday, Oct. 19, the ensemble will take its talents on the road, teaming up with Volkaert and Seals for the Texas Jazz Festival in Corpus Christi. The Jazz Ensemble’s performance will be from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the Heritage Park Cultural Center.

Closer to home, the ensemble will perform at “ACC Jazz Night” at the Texas Community Music Festival, set for Tuesday, Oct. 22, from 7:30 to 9 p.m. at Central Market (4001 N. Lamar Blvd.).

For the past 30 years, the ACC Jazz Ensemble has presented classic American jazz and pop music to audiences throughout Austin and across the state and nation – at concerts, receptions, charity events, and dances. In January, the ensemble played at the presidential inauguration gala; they also performed at an inaugural event in 2009.
