Austin Community College is hosting its first star party of the semester Friday, Oct. 11 – giving the college and community an opportunity to view the wonders of the sky from the Round Rock Campus observation deck.

The event will kick off at 5:30 p.m. with shows in the Austin Planetarium’s Discovery Dome, a digital mobile planetarium, as well as family-friendly exhibits and interactive science activities (Building 2000 lobby).

The Building 3000 observation deck will open at 8 p.m. Attendees are invited to view the night sky through the Physical Sciences Department’s telescopes.

“This is an event for students and ACC employees, as well as for the entire community,” says Dr. Jim Heath, chair of ACC’s Physical Sciences Department. “Our hands-on activities make the star party fun for everyone.”
