Limited space is still available for ACC’s first Veteran’s Symposium on Tuesday, Oct. 15. Because of the high level of interest in the event, the college is considering repeating the workshops in November.
The daylong symposium will address ways faculty and staff can support students who have served in the military. Sessions are:
- 8:30 a.m.- Overview: ACC’s Vet Success and College Credit for Heroes Networking
- 10 a.m.- Returning from War: The Myths and Realities of Trauma
- 1 p.m.- Military Culture 101: Military Socialization and Its Implication for the Classroom
- 2:45 p.m.- From Combat Stress to College Success: Meeting the Needs of Our Student Veterans
Participants can earn professional development credit. For workshop details or to register for the symposium, visit the professional development Workshop and Event registration webpage.
