ACC President Tapped for State Workforce Investment Council

Austin Community College President/CEO Dr. Richard Rhodes has been appointed by Gov. Rick Perry to the Texas Workforce Investment Council.

The 19-member council is charged with building a well-educated, highly skilled workforce for the state and advocating for quality workforce development services. Members represent business, education, organized labor, community-based organizations, and state agencies.

The council helps the governor and the Legislature with strategic planning, research, and evaluation to support and improve the Texas workforce system. The Texas workforce system encompasses programs, services, and initiatives administered by state agencies, workforce development boards, school districts, community and technical colleges, and adult education providers.
