Join Austin Community College’s final star party of the semester Friday, April 4 – your chance to stargaze from the Round Rock Campus observation deck.
The event will kick off at 5:30 p.m. with shows in the Austin Planetarium‘s Discovery Dome, a digital mobile planetarium, as well as family-friendly exhibits and interactive science activities from ACCHaoS (located in the Building 2000 lobby).
The Building 3000 observation deck will be open 8-9:30 p.m. Attendees are invited to observe the night sky through the Physical Sciences Department’s telescopes.
“This is a great event for the entire community,” says Dr. Jim Heath, chair of ACC’s Physical Sciences Department. “Our hands-on activities make the star party fun for everyone.”
Dr. Heath will give a talk 7-8 p.m. in Building 3000, Room 339 titled “On the Shoulders of Giants, Part III: Galileo and Kepler in 1609.”
The star party is free and open to the public. Round Rock Campus is located at 4400 College Park Dr. (See site map.) For more information, visit the star party webpage.

Very disappointed. Wish an e-mail would have been sent notifying students the telescope event was canceled. This page could have said to check back today before coming. I drove 30 mins w my young son who could have made it to bed early for his early game tomorrow. He was really excited about it.

This sounds like so much fun! Will there be another event like this in the future? I know UT has stargazing nights also! I really hope you have another event and it info gets more widely disseminated!
