Employer Open House to Showcase Program To Address IT Worker Shortage
AUSTIN, Texas (March 19, 2014) – Austin Community College and the Austin Chamber of Commerce are hosting an open house for employers to learn how ACC’s Accelerated Programmer Training Program is filling the need for computer programmers in Central Texas.

Background: ACC’s Accelerated Programmer Training is a nationally recognized model for competency- based learning. Funded by the U.S. Labor Department, the program allows students to accelerate their path to an associate degree or certificate in several programming specializations. Within the next 5 years, over 9,000 technology jobs will need to be filled in Central Texas.
Industry partners will have the first chance to recruit from the pool of candidates before they enter the tech job market.
