ACC leaders, faculty, and staff present at NISOD May 25

Several members of the ACC community will be presenting or serving as panelists at the NISOD (National Institute for Staff and Organizational Development) annual Teaching and Leadership Excellence Conference May 25-28 at the Austin Convention Center. They are:

  • Dr. Richard Rhodes, president/CEO – special session: “Learning Together: Insights and Inquiries from Students Success and Action Analytics Initiatives”
  • Dr. Stephanie Hawley, associate vice president, college access programs – facilitator: “Promoting  Academic Success for Men of Color With Student Focus Groups”
  • Sharon Sarles, adjunct professor of sociology — breakout session: “Ways to Engage Students: Pros, Cons, and Science”
  • William Hayden, director of international programs — roundtable discussion: “Community College Global Leadership, Competence, and Engagement”
  • Dorado Kinney, Highland Campus dean of student services — roundtable discussion: “Community College Global Leadership, Competence, and Engagement”
  • Linda Smarzik, dean of computer studies and advanced technology; Michael Martino, adjunct professor of computer information technology; Mary Kohls, chair of computer studies; Millie Marquis, coach, accelerated programmer training;Â Sam Greer, director of accelerated programmer training; and Ninghua Han, instructional designer — breakout session: “Accelerated Programmer Training Talk”

In addition, ACC Trustee Dr. Barbara Mink will introduce the keynote speaker at the recognition dinner for NISOD Excellence Award recipients.
