The countdown to the opening of Highland Campus has begun — classes are set to begin at ACC’s 11th campus Monday, August. 25.
The college will host a grand opening celebration of the 200,000-square-foot facility on Wednesday, August 27 from 10-11:30 a.m. Â The event will include an open house and remarks by special guests.
Meanwhile, momentum for Highland Campus is building: Duplicated enrollment for the location currently exceeds 1,200 students.
Destination: ACC@ Highland draws new Riverbats
Prospective students got a firsthand look at programs to be offered at Highland Campus and other ACC locations during Destination: ACC @ Highland, an enrollment and resource fair in mid-June. Almost 1,000 people stopped in to meet with more than 200 college representatives and get assistance with enrollment steps, financial aid, support services, college and career planning, and more. The college’s Mobile Go Center offered on-the-spot enrollment.
The college also showcased its innovative new developmental math course, MATD 0421. The course will be taught at the Highland Campus ACCelerator—the nation’s largest learning lab, with 600-plus computer stations for individualized instruction and classrooms for mini-lectures.
Move-in planned for early August
The construction team is putting the finishing touches on the campus, including an exterior wall of shining ACC logos and campus signage. Furniture installation is winding down and equipment move-in is under way. Departments are expected to move into the campus in early August.
