Eighteen ACC employees will receive funds through the college’s Tuition Reimbursement Program to pay for advanced or graduate-level coursework they took this fall.
In response to employee feedback, HR this semester used a lottery system to determine reimbursement recipients from the 47 applicants. Click on this link to view a recording of the tuition reimbursement lottery.
“Employees wanted a fairer way to make the tuition reimbursement awards,” says Gerry Tucker, vice president of human resources. “The lottery allows everyone to be included and have an equal chance at being selected. It went very well and employees seemed pleased with the new approach.”

HR’s ACCess Wellness Program offers information and opportunities to help employees develop a healthy lifestyle. Some recent activities:
- Employees responding to a wellness survey were entered in a drawing for a Fitbit Zip digital pedometer. Ten winners were selected.
- Tip sheets about healthy brown bag lunch ideas (pdf) and fighting depression with exercise (pdf) are now online.
