Victor Hwang delivers his commencement address

Victor Hwang delivers his commencement address is an archive of the best commencement speeches in the nation spanning the past four decades from Joe Paterno’s 1973 commencement speech at Penn State to ACC’s most recent fall graduation featuring Hwang. ACC is the first community college in the nation to make the list.

Hwang delivered a three-part speech featuring love letters to Austin, America, and ACC’s fall 2014 graduates.

“You guys are the heroes. I know it’s been hard to get here. For many of you, it’s been harder than it should have been,” Hwang wrote. “I have deep admiration for what you’ve done. I’m moved by what your friends and families have sacrificed. Whatever I say today is lucky to be an asterisk in your life story.”

His speech has since been shared at where Hwang also serves as a contributor.
