Austin Community College’s Veterans Resource Center at ACC Highland Campus is now open Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. -5 p.m.
The center offers the college’s 2,200 military and veteran students a central, one-stop location for obtaining essential support services such as VA certification and advising for VA benefits. The 4,000-square-foot center also features a lounge area where students can connect with peers and participate in veteran-specific activities.
The Resource Center is just one of several services and programs available to ACC military and veteran students. Others include VetSuccess on Campus, College Credit for Heroes, and the annual “From Humvee to ACC” resource fair. In addition, a Veterans Training Program provides free training to qualified local veterans in 14 high-demand information technology fields.
The college also has veterans resource offices at Round Rock, Northridge, and Riverside campuses.
Visit ACC’s Military & Veterans webpage to learn more or contact an ACC Veterans Affairs Specialist.

Finally! How is it there was a televised grand opening beginning of October yet the facility wasn’t actually open for months! What’s up with that?

Thanks for your question, Don. There were some permitting delays that are now resolved. Stop by when you get a chance – staff are eager to assist students in their new location!

It’d be even more awesome if they’d get on the road to the outlying campuses without a presence, especially maybe the week before and of classes starting. While this is an awesome resource, it’s over 30 miles from my campus.
