ACC adds more classes to spring schedule to meet student demand

The Austin Community College District (ACC) is responding to growing demand for short semester options by adding to the hundreds of 12- and eight-week classes on the spring schedule.

“Some students have found it more practical to take shorter semester offerings,” says Dr. Charles Cook, ACC provost and executive vice president for academic affairs. “While the shorter courses are more demanding, students are able to delve deeper into the subject matter and earn credit in eight to 12 weeks. Therefore, students need to do their part and not miss a day of class.”

Courses in high demand include those in core curriculum subjects such as mathematics, English, history, government, arts, and humanities. The college is also offering short semester courses in business studies, computer science and applied technology.

Classes are offered online and on campus on days, evenings, and weekends.

Students have until Wednesday, February 11, to register for 12-week classes that begin February 16. The college’s eight-week session begins Monday, March 23.
