Bistro 3158 ready to serve cuisine from around the world

Austin Community College Culinary Arts students invite you to travel with them around the world as they serve international cuisine at the college’s fine dining restaurant, Bistro 3158, open Thursday evenings February 26 – May 7 at Eastview Campus (3401 Webberville Rd., Room 3158).

“This restaurant gives students a varied experience in the kitchen. They learn about the culture of different regions and create menus from scratch,” says Adriana Thompson, program assistant. “We want our students to focus on learning the art of service and styles of serving and the combined live-action learning environment gives them the skills they need to be successful.”

The first week’s menu spotlights cuisine from France and India, featuring Sauter le Porc Dianne (pork) and Mustard Marinated Grilled Chicken Kebobs as the main entrées. Future menus feature cuisine from San Sabastian, Tokyo, Buenos Aires, and Bangkok.

Bistro 3158 is open to the public. The cost of the four-course meal is $22, plus tax. In lieu of a gratuity, guests are invited to complete a comment card, which further supports the learning process. Riverbats Café also opens at Eastview Campus on Wednesdays from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. beginning February 25. The café will feature weekly American regional specials, including areas such as Florida, Hawaii, and New England. Take-out service is offered.

Visit austincc.edu/cularts/Bistro to view the menus and make a reservation or call 512.223.5334. The restaurant will close during spring break. For more information on the Culinary Arts Program, visit austincc.edu/cularts and the program’s Facebook page.
