Annual benefits enrollment begins July 10

This year’s annual benefits enrollment period is July 10 – July 24. Changes made during annual enrollment are effective September 1 for plan year 2016.

ACC will host its annual enrollment fair and presentation on Friday, July 24, from 9 a.m. to noon at Highland Business Center Room 201. Employees will have an opportunity to talk with vendors and ask questions about various benefit plans.

Human Resources Benefits will provide more details about annual enrollment soon. Information also will be available on the Human Resources webpage in early July.

The Employees Retirement System of Texas (ERS) administers benefits for the college. Employees can access benefit information and change their plan enrollment by going to the ERS website.

Verify your ERS contact information

Benefits-eligible employees should verify their mailing address, email address, and phone number online with ERS before the enrollment period to receive important enrollment material and information. To verify and update information before July 1, 2015:

  • Go to the ERS website and click the “Access My Account” button at the top.
  • Enter usernames and passwords (or create an online account in five easy steps).
  • Click the appropriate link under “My Personal Information.”
  • Follow the steps to verify information or make changes.

Contact ERS customer service at 877-275-4377 for assistance.

View benefits coverage with new online statement

HR Benefits is pleased to announce a new online statement that allows employees to view their benefits coverage. With ERS annual enrollment around the corner, employees are encouraged to review and compare their new ACC benefits statement with their ERS benefits summary.

Log in to Online Services to view the statement. The ACC Benefits Statement Employee Resource Guide (pdf) has details about the information displayed in the online statement.

For questions about the benefits statement, email HR Benefits at [email protected].

ERS webinars & seminars

ERS regularly schedules seminars and webinars on topics like Medicare preparation, retirement planning as it pertains to medical benefits, and general “Ask ERS” sessions.  View the ERS Events Calendar webpage for a schedule of in-person or online sessions.

HealthSelect prescription drug deductibles

Beginning January 1, 2016, prescription-drug deductibles and copays will be included in the total network out-of-pocket maximum for HealthSelect of Texas.

Currently, out-of-pocket prescription costs aren’t included in the maximum. ERS is making this change to comply with provisions of the Affordable Care Act and as a benefit to HealthSelect participants.

HealthSelect prescription-drug deductibles now are based on the calendar year rather than the plan year to align with any medical deductibles. Prescription drug deductibles paid for plan year 2015 (which started September 1, 2014) will carry through until December 31. This gives participants more time before they have to begin paying their deductible for the 2016 plan year that begins September 1.
