Austin Community College’s Health & Kinesiology Program is accepting new students for spring. Courses are open to the community for anyone who wants to shape up in 2016.
Students can select from a variety of classes whether they want to focus on strength and endurance, improving flexibility, ramping up cardio training, managing stress, or increasing focus with options such as: weight training, yoga, dance, tai chi, and more.
Students benefit from hands-on training with renowned instructors, including former Olympians.
“Our instructors offer a level of experience that people don’t get from working out in a regular gym or on their own,” says Jamee Stewart, chair of the ACC Health and Kinesiology Department. “Sometimes when you walk into a gym it seems like everyone knows exactly what they’re supposed to do. We start at the basic level and move on. When people finish their classes they can go out on their own and feel confident that they know exactly how to perform their exercises no matter what activity they’re doing.”
Classes are offered at several locations across the district:
ACC Campuses
Non-ACC Locations
- Aikido of Austin
- Anderson Mill Pool
- Millennium Youth Entertainment Center
- Texas State University-Round Rock Campus
Spring registration is underway now. Classes begin January 19. For more information, visit austincc.edu/getfit2016 or contact Jamee Stewart at [email protected] or 512-223-4814.
