Austin Community College students and employees who are Austin residents are eligible to receive up to $4,000 for education expenses through a city-sponsored savings program.
The City of Austin’s matched savings account program encourages students to save money by offering to pay $4 for every $1 they save, up to $1,000 in savings. That means those who save the $1,000 maximum would earn an additional $4,000 to spend on tuition and educational supplies, such as books, computers, or lab supplies.
Program applicants must reside in Austin, meet income requirements, have some earnings ― including from part-time work, such as babysitting ― and fulfill other requirements.
ACC plans to offer information sessions about the program in January.
For more information, view the city’s Neighborhood Housing and Community Development Matched Savings Account webpage.

Thanks so much for this wonderful information! Will y’all send out an email to all students about this information session? I hope they will happen next month.

Wow, wanting students to prepare themselves and only offered to Austin residents, yet we have ACC in Cedar Park, this only puts a student to wanting to learn and earn at a disadvantage, just great!
