Board Briefs: Policy updates, Rio Grande CMR named

At their February 1 regular meeting Austin Community College Board of Trustees selected Bartlett-Cocke as the construction-manager-at-risk for the Rio Grande Campus improvement project. Read more bond project updates on the ACC Bond Construction Projects website.

At their January 19 meeting, trustees approved previously proposed revisions to board policies relating to the ACC’s mission and annual reports to the board.

The revisions to the policies detailing the college’s vision, mission, and values reduce redundancy by setting forth a single, comprehensive set of value statements rather than including multiple value statements with individual policies. The changes are based on input from Campus Advisory Committees and other internal reviews.

Trustees also approved revised wording regarding the college’s annual reporting to the board. The policy states that two annual reports will serve as scorecards on the college’s progress in achieving goals outlined in its Strategic Plan: the Student Success Report and the Institutional Effectiveness Report. These annual reports are in addition to the college’s annual plan/budget.
