Austin Community College celebrates its growing ACC Alumni Network and online alumni community at a kickoff event 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, February 24, at the Palm Door on Sixth (508 E. 6th Street, Austin).
President/CEO Dr. Richard Rhodes will be on hand to help officially launch the group, which is open to former students who have earned an associate degree or certificate, or completed at least 20 credits at ACC. Faculty and staff are encouraged to attend the event.
“We’ve had such a positive and enthusiastic response so far from alumni who are excited about being part of this community,” says ACC Alumni Director Mary Ann Cicala. “There are so many opportunities for both the college and our alumni to benefit from their ongoing support and involvement.”
ACC’s Alumni Network organizes programs and events for members to network with fellow alumni, take advantage of learning opportunities, and support the life of the college. Members also are eligible for programs like the current offer for discounted home and auto insurance through Nationwide. Proceeds will help fund an Alumni Network scholarship and develop space for Student Life activities at Highland Campus.
Those attending the kickoff event can take photos with RB the Riverbat, play games, and win prizes. The free event includes hors d’oeuvres and a cash bar. Registration is requested and the first 100 people to register will get a free Alumni Network T-shirt. Register for the Alumni Network kickoff event.
