Several members of the Austin Community College community and some familiar campus locations will appear on the big screen this month in the faculty-produced thriller “Frame Switch.”
The feature film, written and co-produced by Adjunct Professor of Creative Writing John Herndon, will be screened 6 p.m. Thursday, March 17, at Galaxy Highland 10 Theatres (6700 Middle Fiskville Rd.). The preview coincides with the SXSW Music, Film, and Interactive conference, but is not part of the festival.
In addition to Herndon, several ACC faculty, staff, students, and former students helped create or appear in the film: Drew Thomas, web designer in the Arts and Humanities Division, was director and co-producer; former ACC French Professor Raquel Gavia has a speaking role, while Adjunct Professor of English Richard Price plays the flute in a flash mob scene. ACC locales in the film include the Cypress Creek, Eastview, Pinnacle, and Rio Grande campuses. View the “Frame Switch” movie trailer.
Tickets to the screening are $20 and available through Tickethookups.com. Tickets also can be purchased at the door with cash or check only. Filmmakers will use proceeds to market the film for wider release.
