ACC hosts spring job fair and career exploration event

Austin Community College (ACC) invites ACC alumni, students, and other job seekers to a job fair and career exploration event Friday, April 15, from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. at the Highland Campus ACCelerator (6101 Airport Blvd.).

“ACC students and alumni are highly sought after by area employers. This is a unique opportunity to establish important connections,” says Dr. Charles Cook, ACC provost and executive vice president for academic affairs.

Amazon, Austin Energy, The Austin Diagnostic Clinic, and Travis County, along with more than 150 additional employers, will be onsite representing more than 2,000 job and internship opportunities. A complete list of participating employers is available online at austincc.edu/jobfair.

Those attending are encouraged to complete their Campus2Careers profile, bring copies of their resumé, and dress interview-ready.

Participants also can explore career paths. Representatives from numerous ACC programs will be available to answer questions and provide guidance

In conjunction with the job fair and career exploration event, ACC Career Services is hosting Adecco Staffing “Street Day” Career experts will be on site to assist job-seekers with resumé building and mock interviews.  

“ACC Career Services facilitates connections that can provide a stable income and real-life experience in the workplace so students can stay in college, transfer or graduate, and achieve their goals,” says Dr. Virginia Fraire, ACC vice president of student services. “This is a fantastic opportunity for earning-while-learning, preparing to enter the workforce, securing an entry or advanced career-related position, exploring opportunities, or just gaining insight regarding what is available in the Central Texas region. “
