The following Austin Community College faculty have been selected to develop and review courses that use open educational resources (OER) instead of commercial textbooks.
Students taking the courses will be able to earn an associate of arts or science degree in general studies using free or low-cost online resources, potentially saving thousands of dollars on textbooks. ACC is developing the materials in collaboration with three other Texas community colleges. (See ACC receives grant to develop open educational resources.)
Course reviewers are still needed for some subjects (see below). Interested faculty should apply by Monday, September 26.

Additional reviewers needed
The college needs reviewers for the courses listed below. In addition to reviewing courses and providing feedback to course developers, reviewers will teach at least one pilot section in spring or fall 2017 using the OER material they reviewed. Reviewers will receive a stipend for their review work and an additional stipend for piloting the course.
