Austin Community College (ACC) is looking for students to fill the green and yellow high tops of the beloved Riverbat mascot, RB. The college is hosting mascot tryouts 10 a.m. Friday, September 23, at Riverside Campus, Lecture Hall (1020 Grove Blvd. Building G, Room 8100).
The mascot is a flexible, paid position. Applicants must be current students in good academic standing. Selected candidates will perform as the college’s official mascot at events beginning in the 2016 fall semester. Those offered a position also are eligible to apply for the Riverbat Scholarship.
Since making its debut in fall 2010, RB the Riverbat has represented ACC at hundreds of college and community events including:
- ACC’s Dia de la Familia
- ACC’s Carnival ah!
- ACC Car Show
- Pro sports games with the Texas Stars and Austin Toros
- Round Rock Bat Fest
- James Missions 5k
- Elgin Hogeye Festival
