Austin Community College’s Music Program is offering a series of new courses in spring to address growing demand for arts programs.
Students may choose among three classical music ensembles including:
- Chamber Woodwinds: flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon, saxophone, and piano
- Chamber Strings: violin, viola, cello, double bass, harp, and guitar
- Chamber Brass: trumpet, trombone, French horn, euphonium, baritone, tuba, and piano.
“With these new additions, our program is providing options for music students who wish to pursue a specialization in classical music,” says Dr. Steven Sodders, music department professor. “We’re providing new learning and performance opportunities for non-major students who might otherwise have to abandon music after high school.”
Registration for spring is underway. To sign up for classes, visit austincc.edu/apply. For more information about the courses, visit the Music Department’s website, or contact Sodders at [email protected] or by phone at 512-223-4025.
