TexFlex balances and claims
If you contributed to a healthcare flexible spending account (FSA) last plan year and did not use all of your funds, you can carry over a maximum of $500 from one plan year to the next. Login to your TexFlex FSA to view your carryover balance. If your balance exceeds $500, you have until December 31 to file claims for expenses that occurred before August 31. Unclaimed amounts over $500 will be forfeited unless claimed by December 31.
The $500 carryover does not apply to TexFlex dependent care funds. Instead, funds may be used for eligible expenses that occur during a grace period between September 1 and November 15. The last day to submit claims is December 31 and any funds left in your account after that date will be forfeited.
For more information, see the FAQs on the TexFlex website.
