ACC hosts spring job fair and career exploration event

Austin Community College (ACC) invites ACC alumni, students, and other job seekers to a job fair and career exploration event Friday, April 7, from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. at the Highland Campus ACCelerator (6101 Airport Blvd.).

“This is a unique opportunity to meet employers and establish important connections,” says Dr. Virginia Fraire, ACC vice president of student services. “ACC provides affordable, flexible pathways to help individuals achieve their educational and career goals. Employers know when they hire an ACC graduate they’re hiring someone who is highly skilled and prepared for work on day one.”

The American Cancer Society, Austin Police Department, Magnolia Personnel Group, PAGE, and Spectrum, along with more than 100 additional employers will be on site representing more than 2,000 job and internship opportunities, A complete list of participating employers is available online at  Participants are encouraged to bring copies of their résumé or portfolio and dress ready to interview.

Representatives from ACC’s ten Areas of Study also will be available to answer questions and provide guidance on making informed educational choices for attendees who want to learn more about opportunities available at ACC.

Leading up to the event, ACC is hosting a series of Job Fair Success Workshops ranging from résumé preparation, networking, dressing for success, and creating an elevator speech. Workshops begin Monday, March 27, and run through Tuesday, April 4. A full schedule of events is available on the job fair website.
