Austin Community College will present a discussion on global environmental issues and solutions at 7 p.m. on Thursday, March 23, at Rio Grande Campus, Auditorium, Room 201 (1212 Rio Grande).
Presented by ACC’s National Society of Collegiate Scholars, the event will focus on global climate change and species loss.
“We’re learning about how our individual actions can have an impact upon the global environment,” says Dr. Anne-Marie Thomas, ACC English professor and co-advisor of the ACC National Society of Collegiate Scholars. “We’ll explore how we can protect and preserve the integrity of the biosphere.”
Keynote speaker, environmentalist Chris Searles of BioIntegrity, will examine tropical forests, what their status is, and how you can help the world’s most efficient preservation groups succeed faster in building a brighter future.
The event is free and open to the public. Refreshments are provided.
