ACC faculty and staff are invited to learn the ins and outs of student financial aid at workshops offered May 16 and 18 at three campuses.
At Pathways to Dollars and $en$e, staff from the Financial Aid and Veterans Affairs offices will cover financial aid rules, veterans benefits, the role of faculty and staff in financial aid processes, and the impact of course selection on awards.
“Many students stop attending or withdraw due to financial constraints,” says Terry Bazan, executive director of Student Assistance. “The Financial Aid Office may be able to help students find additional resources, even if it’s mid-semester. When faculty and staff are knowledgeable about financial aid options, we can work together to ensure students stay enrolled and succeed.”
Session dates and locations are:
May 16 – 2:30-4 p.m. at Round Rock Campus, Room 1124
May 18 – 9-10:30 a.m. at Highland Campus, Room 2217, and
9-10:30 a.m. at Riverside Campus, Building G, Room 8100
Professional development credit is available. Sign up through the Workshop and Event Registration database. For questions, contact Juanita Chable, 512-223-9149 or [email protected].
