HR Connection: Update your address, EAP newsletters, and December discounts

Has Your Address Changed This Year?

To ensure that your 2017 IRS W-2 and 1095-C statements reach you in January, please verify your mailing address and electronic consent by December 31, 2017.  You can verify both by accessing Online Services using the Employee Login.

To verify your mailing address, select “Change Employee Information” under the “Employee Profile” header and update your address accordingly.

To verify your electronic consent select “Tax Information” under the “Employee Profile” header to go to Self Service. Consent can be changed by selecting the “Change Preferences” button under the respective statement tab.

Accidents happen – Be prepared during the holidays.

Be prepared for emergency care when traveling, especially during the holiday season. If you and/or your family plan on making merry away from home this year, take time before you go to tuck your health insurance and prescription drug card safely in your wallet. Keep these cards on you at all times. In a true emergency, go to the nearest hospital. Take time before you travel to review what you may be required to pay for an emergency room visit or hospital stay. Also check out the options available to you should you or your loved ones become sick, but the issue is not life-threatening:

If you are enrolled in a HealthSelect plan, consider printing out this chart and keep it handy. The chart can help you figure out when to use each type of care, including virtual visits. You can also call the 24/7 nurse line toll-free at (800) 581-0368.

Those who are enrolled in the Scott and White Health Plan can call the Nurse Advice Line, 24 hours a day, seven days a week, at (877) 505-7947.

EAP – Take the High Road

If you find yourself in need of a ride home after a holiday event, call a ride share or cab then send the bill to Deer Oaks, the ACC Employee Assistance Plan provider. Deer Oaks, will reimburse you for up to $45 (minus tip). Be smart and safe this holiday. See here for more info.

Campus Flu Shot Clinics

The new on-campus flu shot clinics were a big success in October and November. Organized by the Employee Wellness Program in HR Benefits, 368 employees took advantage of on-site flu shot clinics at our campus and business locations. Flu shots were available at no charge for employees who have their medical plan with ERS Blue Cross Blue Shield or Scott & White HMO. Plans are to offer this program again next fall.
