Austin Community College District recognized for online learning excellence

Austin Community College (ACC) is a top two-year college in the state of Texas for online learning according to AffordableCollegesOnline.org, a national resource on affordability and excellence in higher education.

“ACC is dedicated to growing online learning to better serve students’ unique needs,” says Dr. Gaye Lynn Scott, Associate Vice President, Academic Transfer Programs. “Expanding online learning provides more flexible options for students far and wide.”

ACC delivers nearly 500 courses each semester online. Online and hybrid classes offer students a convenient way to earn college credit. Course content and transferability is identical to classes offered on campus, giving students more scheduling options and a wider selection of classes to meet their needs. In the past year, ACC introduced Quality Matters, a nationally-recognized quality assurance standard in online learning to provide faculty the opportunity to enhance courses and programs that will translate to student success. Next steps include establishing ACC Online, a virtual campus with integrated student services.

“ACC is committed to building strong communities through innovative programs and transformative delivery models,” says Dr. Richard Rhodes, ACC president/CEO.
