Learn about the engineering profession from experts in Austin Community College’s Engineering Program. “So You Want to be an Engineer” will be 10 a.m. Friday, February 23, at Highland Campus, Room 2405 (6101 Highland Campus Dr.).
The event is free and open to the public.
“Fifteen of the top 25 paying jobs are in the engineering field, but many students don’t know what being an engineer really means,” says Jim Heath, chair of the Engineering Department. “We’ll explore different engineering career choices and the academic pathways that lead to the engineering job you want.”
Sessions include:
- Packing Your Bags: Learn how to get yourself calculus-ready and explore strategies for getting workforce certificates and hands-on experience as a student.
- Starting the Journey: Explore degree specialties available to ACC’s engineering students.
- Punching Your Ticket: Learn how to prepare for university transfer, including co-enrollment opportunities through the Texas A&M-Chevron Engineering Academy at ACC.
