Austin Community College (ACC) celebrates the 49th anniversary of Earth Day with dozens of events districtwide April 22 to April 26, with pre-party events starting Saturday, April 13.
“We are so excited to host ACC’s largest Earth Week yet with over 50 events. Each day offers a variety of events focused on transportation, waste, energy, and gardens,” says Jasmin Rostamnezhad, ACC Sustainability Coordinator. “We hope by engaging students, staff, and faculty in these events, we will celebrate the sustainable projects and practices happening every day at ACC and instill a commitment to sustainability to all of those involved.”
The celebration begins with a series of events Saturday, April 13. Other Earth Week events at ACC include a butterfly garden kickoff to build habitats for caterpillars at Riverside, Elgin, and Northridge campuses; milkweed patch gardening to create a monarch butterfly garden at Cypress Creek Campus; farm tours, wellness walks, and potlucks.
