Austin Community College (ACC) is the first community college in the nation to be designated as an Adobe Creative Campus. The entire Adobe Creative Cloud suite will be available to ACC staff, students, and faculty at no-to-minimal cost, starting Monday, April 15.
“Creativity is a core competency in the 21-century. It’s the driver of innovation and entrepreneurship,” says Thomas Nevill, ACC Arts, Digital Media & Communications dean. “The Adobe Creative Campus Program means more faculty can develop immersive projects for the classroom and our students can graduate with advanced skills that will put them ahead in the modern workplace.”
As an Adobe Creative Campus, ACC faculty have access to Creative Cloud services and can integrate the Adobe systems into cross-disciplinary curricula. Students, faculty, and staff will have open access to Adobe’s entire creative cloud including graphic design, video editing, and web development such as Photoshop, Illustrator, Premier Pro, and Spark.
“We share in ACC’s vision to better prepare students for success in and out of the classroom. At Adobe, we are partnering with our nation’s leading institutions to transform education,” says Jason Katsoff, Adobe Customer Success Manager. “Together, we will build digital literacy and improve student outcomes.”
Students in the Arts, Digital Media & Communications area of study will receive Adobe Creative Cloud for $10 per semester. All other currently enrolled ACC students may purchase a license for $50 per semester, compared to $239.88 per year. Faculty and staff may register for free, compared to $599.88 per year. The services will be available to download on district-owned and personally-owned computers, tablets, or mobile devices.
