Austin Community College District’s (ACC) Skills, Training and Education for Personal Success (STEPS) program held its graduation ceremony Thursday, May 11 at ACC Northridge Campus.
The reception highlighted the accomplishments of the 24 graduates in the program. The ceremony was paid for by former Texas Representative Larry Gonzales, who donated $7,500 to cover the cost of graduation and donate to the STEPS scholarship fund. His son was one of the graduates honored in the ceremony,
ACC’s STEPS program offers vocational training and educational options for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Graduates who complete STEPS are eligible to take a certification course in their area of interest. Students attend academic support while taking certification classes to provide tutoring and homework help. For more information, visit austincc.edu/accsteps.
