No matter where you are in the process, there is support to get you where you want to go when you sign up for fall classes at Austin Community College District (ACC). To help new students register quickly, the college offers 1-on-1 support with registration, financial aid, applications, college readiness testing, and more.

Going back to college is one of the best investments a person can make, according to a report from Lightcast. The report found that those who completed their degree earned annual salaries 140 percent more than those who didn’t return to college. Those who pursued an associate degree in more technical fields, like STEM and Health Sciences, had even greater economic mobility gains. 

New programs and degrees

Several programs launch and grow this fall at ACC — all linked to high-demand industries:

• Bachelor of Applied Science (BAS) in Cybersecurity: The program, uniquely designed in partnership with industry and business partners, prepares professionals with a related associate degree for more advanced career roles.
• Conservation Science and Wildlife Management: The college will offer several certificates and an associate degree in wildlife conservation and management. The program covers principles and techniques of wildlife habitat conservation and sustainable hunting, fishing, and outdoor recreation.
• Farm-to-Table Entrepreneurship: In a partnership between ACC’s Sustainable Agriculture Program and Culinary Arts Program, the new degree combines culinary, agriculture, and small business management courses to prepare students to start food businesses that source or grow local and sustainable agriculture products. 
• Mexican American Studies Program: The program explores history, literature, art, religion, culture, language, and human experiences to provide students with a platform to transfer to four-year universities.
