Austin Community College District (ACC) welcomes back new and returning students for the fall 2023 semester. The college celebrates students at all stages of their educational journey.
Meet Jeremiah Sudarmanto, a 3D Animation student returning this fall as he works to finish his degree.
“It always feels good to be learning. My time at ACC has been valuable. There’s tons of flexibility with class choices — days of the week, time of day, in-person or online. There’s so much choice, and I love it.”
Jeremiah began taking dual credit courses in high school and then enrolled after high school in fall 2022.
“ACC is the perfect gateway after high school that makes you feel safe. Even if you don’t know where you want to go in life, ACC is like the person patting you on the back and saying, ‘It’s okay. You’re gonna be okay.’ The teachers get a lot more real with you — they’re not here to baby you — and treat you like an equal.”
During his time at ACC, Jeremiah served as an intern for the Office of College Relations and Marketing. The experience helped him earn money while learning more about potential career paths.
“Working for the college was amazing. I was able to put the skills I learned in the classroom to practice for real-world promotions for the college and work heavily on social media platforms. It thoroughly impressed me to see how much thought and effort goes into the little things. I learned that efficient and fun work environments do exist.”
Jeremiah encourages future Riverbats to make the most of their experience at ACC.
“There is a lot of value in a place of ACC. Don’t start college looking to get it over with and move to the next step. Take advantage of the opportunities that many people still look past.”
