Austin Community College District’s (ACC) partnership with the Make It Movement is getting students on the right track to a promising future.
“I’m Dylan Zamarron, I’m 18, I just graduated high school with an associate degree and welding certifications, all in high school, all free, and if I can do it, you can do it.”
Dylan completed his program at Elgin Early College High School. He is working to pursue a career in welding. Watch his story in the video above.
Through the partnership, students can find their purpose and make a career out of their passion. ACC is focused now on connecting high school graduates and other young adults to high-demand career routes before they graduate high school.
The college also opened the Make It Center at Highland Campus, a first-of-a-kind innovative space. The center allows middle and high school students and the community to pursue their passions, find their purpose, and discover educational pathways to get them there through hands-on career exploration.
